Trying to conceive baby number 2 👶🏼

“It’s about time you had another!” “Are you one and done?” “Don’t leave it too late!” These are comments I hear on a daily basis.

While these remarks are often made in good fun, they can be challenging to hear when you’re struggling to conceive, especially when all you want is to have another child.

Many people seem to think that because I’ve had one child, getting pregnant again should be easy. It took me and my husband a year to conceive our little girl, and now we find ourselves approaching that same timeframe once more.

We couldn’t be happier with our daughter; she’s everything we’ve ever wished for! However, she is now at a stage where she constantly asks when she will get a baby brother or sister.

I often ask myself, “My body has done it before; why can’t it happen again?” It’s hard not to feel like I’m letting my husband and daughter down. I feel like I’m failing us.

I genuinely feel content with what we have, but I can’t shake the ache for what I dream of.

I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. Hopefully, in due time, we will have the chance to bring another little life into our world.

If you’re feeling the same way, please know that you’re not being “ungrateful” just because you already have one child. It simply means you’re a mother with a heart big enough to want more.

My inbox is always open.
